Remodeling work is so different and finicky to me. Like, I want to add a deck to my backyard. I don't know how to do it. I live in a modest suburb, and the last thing I want to do is add stuff to the house that makes it "harder" to sell. Why add $20,000 of remodeling to the house when the other surrounding houses will go on the market for below that price?
