"But I have to believe that on some level, you have to be disappointed as a black man that President Obama put investment bankers, bank executives, and the need to continue pumping all of our money into the military ahead of the need to achieve true social and economic justice not just for blacks, but for any group that is marginalized."
These are good, world-historical things to be concerned about. But I just want my nation to allow us to live healthier lives and to stop killing us dead.
Obama pass the Affordable Healthcare Act. While flawed, it provided a great expansion of health care to Black people. I have family members who can now go to the doctor because of that.
Furthermore, he made progress on the issue that emerged in the latter half of his president, #blacklivesmatter. After the Ferguson uprising, he issued decree orders and launched investigations into police systems nationwide and how they abused and strip-mined their Black communities.
While Obama's legacy is stilling being discussed, he made progress on two issues near and dear to the heart of his community.
"I feel like you have more to say, but that you are editing yourself somewhat."
